The new Imperial Guard codex drops in this
month, and early reconnaissance reports that the Imperium’s grunt forces
will be significantly increased potentially a hundred models or more to
a single platoon. That’s a lot of grey to dress up for the field. To
help the new sergeants and commissars get the men prettied up for war in
a hurry. Here’s a simple, two-step method that won’t get you any awards,
but will slap some colors on your army.
First step: Paint the face and hands with P3 Midlund Flesh.
Leave the boots and bayonet handle
black. This process isn’t designed to impress your opponent with brush
strokes, but to intimidate them as they see endless waves of khaki and
green guardsmen! Second step: Use the GW Ogryn Flesh Wash on the
face and hands. Now, maybe you want to take it one step further, you masochist. If so, here’s an quick, optional third step. Third step: Thin down some P3 Brown Ink and
apply it carefully over the flesh parts. The ratio is 1:1 equal amount
water and ink. Using this method as a base, you can go further with highlighting and layering on your more important models like your sergeants or character models!
